Performance Under Saddle classes are the starting point for most riders. Here riders can demonstrate their equitation skills. There are three levels of Under Saddle:
- Green Horse – for horses that are just starting to be ridden.
- Novice – for riders who are just starting out.
- Open – for more experienced riders.
Green Horse and Novice classes are walk/trot (2 gait) only. Open classes are walk/trot/canter (3 gait.) The skills you learn in equitation classes will help you in whatever style of riding you ultimately choose.
