What are National Equine Presentations?

National Equine Presentations can be done as a speech, individual presentation/demonstration, or team presentation/demonstration.

A preliminary judging will be held in May. At that time, a team of judges with various backgrounds provide feedback to help members prepare and improve before the final selection in July.

We especially need team presenters. There are always fewer teams competing at state. The winners at state have the opportunity to go to the national competition in Kentucky in November.

April 1 is the deadline to sign up for National Equine Presentations.

Please have your seniors give serious consideration to participating in the National Equine Presentations. For those seniors who have received a blue ribbon for a regular presentation, this is an opportunity to express their passion for horses, hone their public speaking skills, and possibly go to nationals in Kentucky.

I’m available to any youth who may want help developing or polishing a National Equine Presentation. I’m happy to answer any questions or give guidance to leaders and parents.

There are three areas: individual presentation/demonstration, team presentation/demonstration, and speech. We can send one individual, one team, and one speech to the state contest during 4-H State Fair. The winning members at state are invited to go on to nationals in Kentucky.
