Congratulations to all the youth, and thank you to those parents, who represented Pierce County at State Fair. We had multiple youth who placed top 10, check out our State Fair Website for the list.
RECORD BOOKS AND COUNTY AWARDS
It’s not to late to turn in your completed record book for county awards! Just send it with your leader to the October 17th Parent Leader’s Meeting. County awards and pins will be given out Sunday, October 28th at 4:00pm at Achievement Night, which will be held at the Riverside Valley Grange in Fife, 6715 N Levee Rd., Fife, WA 98424.
UPCOMING MEETING, BOARD AND DIVISION VACANCIES
Our next Parent/Leader’s Meeting is Wednesday, October 17th at Meridian Riding Club in Puyallup, 7:00pm. Every horse club is required to have one representative at every quarterly meetings.Unfortunately for us, due to other obligations, Sandra Wolfer has stepped down from her position on the Horse Board. This leaves us one 2-year vacancy. Per our Handbook we will hold another vote at the October Parent/Leader’s meeting. If you would like to nominate somebody please email Jill ASAP.It’s also time to fill division and coordinator positions for 2018-19. Click here to see the 2017-18 assignments and please email Jill if you are interested in serving again or taking on a new position. We REALLY need volunteers to assist with running our programs. The board is here to help guide newcomers, please don’t hesitate to jump on in.
We are in the process of making arrangements with the State Fair Grounds for our Spring Clinic & Tack Sale. We are in need of some MAJOR help in planning this event. Due to arena and facility limitations there will be some format changes and a need for some creative thinking. If you are interested in helping please email Connie ASAP
It’s time to re-enroll for the new 4-H Year! It is all done on 4-HOnline! Just log into your family account, click on “edit” next to your name and it will give you an option to enroll for 2018-2019. Please be sure to complete the “Animal/Livestock” enrollment as well. Remember there is a $40 yearly enrollment fee that can be paid by credit card online or by check. If this is a hardship the County Extension offers grants. If you would like to apply for assistance, just choose to “pay by check” and contact Sadie Williams at the extension office for the grant request form.
Please keep an eye on the Horse Department Calendar for upcoming events. If you club is interested in sponsoring/putting on a workshop, clinic, or judging and would like to get it approved as an educational credit, be sure you complete and submit 6 weeks prior to the event. Click here for the form!The first Horse Bowl practice is 7:00pm on October 15th at the Horse Play Cafe’ in the Tacoma Unit. Come check it out!Teen Rally is November 2-4th at Camp Seymour in Gig Harbor. Late registrations are still open until October 15th, Click here for information.
