What is Driving?

Driving, when applied to horses and ponies is a broad term for hitching an equine to a carriage or cart.  In 4-H an exhibitor may drive a single horse, pony, miniature, or donkey.  A variety of classes are offered to youth who drive; from obstacles courses to simple pleasure driving.

To participate in the Driving Medal program Horse & Handler combination must earn 2 high blues at a qualifying show or Pierce County Fair in the regular intermediate or Senior Driving class they wish to take to the next level.

Find out if you qualify by reviewing points from the past few years.  (Note: a high blue would be any ribbon score greater than 60)
