Show Office Clean-up
This Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm we will be cleaning and decontaminating the Show Office. This winter we had some rodent friends take residence. Our first show is two weeks away and the facility is not safe for occupancy. We could use all the help we can get! Bring GLOVES (stop at the dollar store on your way out), All-purpose cleaner and paper towels, (Remember there is no running water in that facility). Mouse bait was put out a few weeks ago but if anyone has another idea how to rid our fury friends, bring it on. Note: We will provide facemask.
Judging Division Chair Opening
After many years as our Judging Chair Eileen Johnson is stepping down and taking a new position as our Resources & State Fair Judging Coordinator. Eileen will work with our State Fair Judging Teams to prepare them for the State Competition. Eileen has taken numerous youth to the National level and her expertise and knowledge is very valuable to youth wanting to take it to the next level.
This change means we have a Judging Chair opening that must be filled ASAP. This person’s ultimate responsibility will be tracking Judging results and attendance as well as being a resource to those who put on a Judging. (Note, the Board has made some changes to how Judgings will be scheduled and run, this will be discussed at next week’s meeting.) If you are interested in Chairing or co-chairing please contact Jill, ASAP.
April Fun'Raiser Show
We are still in need of a show Chair for April's show. If you can help out please contact Jill. Our shows don't happen without the help of our wonderful volunteers. Sign up early online!
Please be sure to tell your friends, our Spring funraiser is only a few weeks away, April 29th. No pre-entry required, just check in at show office, buy some tickets, hand your ticket to the gate person and enter the class! It is open to anyone over the age of 8 (as of October 1,2016). Although it is an open schooling show, 4-H Rules must apply; meaning long sleeve shirts, boots, and helmets for all! You can find the class list and patterns on our website!
General Parent/Leader’s Meeting is next week!
Wednesday, April 19th is the mandatory Parent/Leader’s meeting. It starts at 7:00pm at the Pierce County Library Administrative Building. It is mandatory that ever club has representation. There will be two proposals voted on month, please review prior.
Vacant Board Position – Youth Member
We will be taking nominations and voting next week to fill our vacant youth board position. If you are interested in being "in the know" and helping with the program at another level, please be sure you are there and your leader or friend nominates you!
Horse Certificates and Enrollment Deadline
April 30th is the enrollment deadline for youth who want to participate at Pierce County Fair; be sure your 4-H Online enrollment is done. In addition, Horse Certificates must be turned in by May 1st. Be sure you complete one for all your horses, so you have a back-up. If you have submitted one in the past, you don’t have to do another but be sure you check the online list to be sure! We will be collecting them at the Parent/Leader’s meeting as well as at the April Fun’Raiser Show.
Be sure you sign up for your pre-Fair Presenations. Dates have been set: April 29th @, Frontier Park, May 13th @ 4-H Office, May 24th in Gig Harbor, May 31st in Gig Harbor & June 17th @ the 4-H Office.
